As a way to research the thriller genre for my short film, I watched the short film “ Crack Shot ” by the filmmaker Alex Cohen  using the short of the week website and I will be analyzing it's Mis-En-Scene, different camera angels, sounds and editing that are commonly used in the film. Further, the story is about a young man Justin H uang, who is an elite junior squash player that works at location where they train childr en, he then becomes entangled in an intense game when a wealthy father offers him a deal to help his son. In order to research the thriller genre for my short film, I watched the short film “ The Sunshine Sta t e ” by the filmmaker s Sam Dixon and Skye White   using the short of the week website and I will be analyzing its different camera angles , shots, movements, Mis-En-Scene, sounds and editing that are commonly used in the film. Further, the story is about a young man who is under the influence of a lcohol and is by himself at night in the middle of nowhere, he then picks up a stran ger old man hitchhiker on his way back home to Queensland. Beginning with sound, some diegetic sounds that I found were music from the restaurant the young man was in, dialogue of the young man and the old hitchhiker plus people in the background. As a way to research the thriller genre for my short film, I watched the short film “Porcupine” by the filmmaker Clifford Miu using the short of the week website and I will be analyzing its Mis-En-Scene, different camera angels, shots, movements, sounds and editing that are commonly used in t he film . Further, t he story is about a young mo ther who is a widow , one New Year’s Eve night she has to protect her infant from intruders and therefore askes the 911 operator if she has permission to shoot. Starting with sound, some dieg etic so unds that I found was low to loud banging of the front door fro m attempting to open it by force by the intruders.
