It is Time to Review

Welcome back to my blog reader! Now that I have filmed and edited my short film named “Lucky,” it is time to show it to some individuals in order to get a second opinion from someone that it is not involve in the project as a way gain different perspective and see it through a different lens which will aid me in finding the mistakes and little details that I might have missed which will provide me with an opportunity to fix them therefore enhancing the project. I have requested two of my close friends Jada and Jasmine who were available to watch my short film and let me know what are some of the areas are that require attention. First, both of them  agreed with the fact that the opening scene has two different takes and that it is noticeable therefore sugge sted that I would try to find another way to paste the scene together in order to not disrupt the continuity and flow of the scene. Later, they commented that they truly enjoyed the arc shot from wher

Editing Process Part 2

Welcome back to my blog reader! To continue the editing process, I began editing the scene w here Gabriela walks away from the stranger and decides to call Nancy. As I mentioned before, I am the voice of Nancy which I will do with a voiceover. I plac ed the vi deos for the scene  in order, and I trimmed them . Then, I rehearsed how I was going to say my lines   which as the scene goes on my voice gets more concern every time. I t hen completed the voiceover and added an effect that makes it sound like my voice is coming from the phone. I made sure that when Gabriela slowly drops her phone due to that she is extremely confused on what is happening , when I say the line “Hello? Hello?” my voice sounds like it is far. Further, the scenes where there is dialogue and take place in the mall such as the Gabriela looking for the place wondering where it is, stopping to check the location and deciding to ask assistance from a stranger, the interaction with the st

Editing Process Part 1

Welcome back to my blog reader! After I have concluded the filming process for my short film titled “Lucky,” I am now going to begin the editing process. First, I began to choose the best takes for each scene and placed them i n order in the editing app CapCut which is the platform that I will choose to edit the film. Then, I began with the opening scene of the film which had two different takes as in one  the protagonist played by cousin Gaby opens the picture of the raffle ticket on her phone while the camera was focused on a close-up of the phone in order to show the messages from Nancy telling her about the raffle ticket which is a crucial part of the story. This take was going great until my cousin skipped the part where she sends the voice message to Nancy telling her she’ll go and instead got up. In contrast, the other take went in a smoothly manner, but she did not open the picture of the ticket. Now beginning the editing process of the short film,

Finding the Right Music

Image
Welcome back to my blog reader! Now it is time to find the music that will enhance my short film and will make it come together. I have decided not to reach out to any musical artist as I find royalty free music on the platform YouTube. This is due to that I feel it is more accessible for me as it provides me with large variety of options and I am able to access the content in a matter of minutes whereas if I reach out to an artist, it could take a very long time for them to reply or they could never give me the permission I require with a very late notice. Therefore, all these little details could possibly cause major harm to my short film thus leading to me to my decision of going with royalty free music from the platform YouTube as it seems to be the better choice for me after listing the pros and cons. Now that I have chosen what path I am going to follow, I now need to look at my options within that path. I am looking for suspenseful music that will make the v

Filming Day Part 2

Image
Welcome back to my blog reader! For the second day of filming , I began with the scene where the protagonist Gabriela is found sleeping on the couch leading to the audience finding out that it was all a dream. I had also limited time to film the second day as well due to that my cousin had worked in the morning and then had something else to attend to o late in the afternoon therefore only leaving me with a small part of the afternoon to film. Further, my cousin got dressed in her costume from the prior filming day as well as having the same hairstyle which was having her hair up with a large hair clip and the makeup that gives her a natural look. Taking a deeper look, this is the costume that the protagonist uses for the majority of the film. I especially chose this costume due to that it adds realism to the character therefore making the viewer feel like what is happening on screen could happen to them in real life. The normal clothing adds realism
