Editing Blog: Meeting the right time duration

Welcome to my blog reader! My group and I were able to meet outside of school, which is when we filmed all the scenes that involved our two wonderful actresses , we filmed these scenes on Wednesday because it was a day that we had school off due to a holiday . The scenes with the actresses are the ones that matter the most due to that it takes more time to film, and we only had one chance to do it since we could not do it at any other time because of the different schedules we all (including the actresses ) had. After being able to film all the scenes with actresses needed, we only had one more scene to shoot, which was a shot of the lipstick by itself for display. At first, our plan was to film the lipstick from different angles/sides and that the lips tick would be spinning. Regardless of what we initially had planned when we edited all the scenes together, we realized that we would not have enough time to fit the last scene in the commercial . Even though we did not have enough time for the last scene , we could not be without it because the last scene is the true advertisement for our product (the L'Oréal Paris lipstick)  , which would tie the whole  commercial together . Due to this, my group and I ended up using a picture of the lipstick instead of the clip of the lipstick being filmed from different sides/angles. We inserted the picture of the lipstick and transitioned to the logo of L'Oréal Paris and the message that the commercial is trying to tell which is that this is a lipstick that is made to last. We used the Canva app to edit each of the slides and were able to get the result we needed. Our slides went over the time limit, Hailey edited length of the clips , which needed to be trimmed. She was able to manage the length of each scene while still being able to keep the importance of each scene intact. But we were still 20 seconds over from where we needed to be (Without transitions yet to be placed), even after trimming the scenes . We realized that we had to speed up each of the videos if we wanted to meet the time limit . We adapted each scene to a decent speed that flowed with one another and would meet the time limit. For instance, our very first scene which involved the young actress (Hailey's cousin) running was sped up more than where she is applying the lipstick, the difference of speeds allowed the video to have a better flow. To go with the theme of the commercial, we decided to use fast paced music. At first, we thought of using music that had a dreamy feel to it but after we saw the commercial put together, we decided that the right choice was upbeat music because it tied it all together . We went through different options first such as Orchestra music, but we decided that what fitted the commercial was a cheerful , upbeat elevator feel type music. Well this is my cue to leave, till next time reader.
