Filming of First Location Done
Welcome back to my blog reader! We continued the filming at our first location, which was Hailey’s house, in order to finalize the house scenes. We began the day with the scene where our character is searching for her missing mother. Kyra took a pan shot of the house to make it seem as it is through our character’s eyes, showing the house completely empty. Then, we get a high angle of Hailey in the Kitchen in order to display her worries after finding out that she was alone. We didn’t have any issues with these two shots as we were able to get them in one take. We then moved on to film a scene that we sadly had to eliminate as it took too much time of the video considering our time limit, this scene consisted of Hailey opening the door to her mother’s room, not being able to find her, and then closing the door when exiting. My team members and I then moved on to the scene where our character goes over to her couch and throws herself on it. We struggled while filming this as we wanted to use a Dutch angle to create confusion, but it came out looking weird. We then attempted almost everything such as Kyra spinning the camera which led to the scene turning out well but then the issue that surfaced was that the shot turned out to be upside down. Then, we attempted to shoot the scene with the tripod that was given to us by our teachers, but it was useless. We then tried to re-shoot the scene but then Kyra’s fingers could be seen in the take, we found that there was no remedy, so we moved to the next scene in our schedule. We continued to film the scene where Hailey walked in the house, appearing to be confused by seeing that the door of her house was open (this was filmed from outside of the house). We then moved on to the final scene of our first location, this scene consisted of Hailey looking around the house in order to see if there was anyone there who could explain what was happening and then Kyra would grab Hailey’s shoulder. This scene took us three tries as the first one Hailey was not satisfied with, the second one Hailey need it to appear more scared, so we shot it again. And then the third take was our perfect one as Hailey was able to execute her acting nicely as she gasped and widened her eyes exactly how we had envisioned. This concluded the filming at our first location, our house scenes, now we were ready to begin filming at our second and last location. Well this is my cue to leave, till next time reader!
