Filming day at Hailey’s house


                  Welcome back to my blog reader! After finishing our filming day at the mall, while we were eating dinner we started discussing when and where our last filming day should be. We discussed what day my team members and I would be available in order to film, we had to discuss this very thoroughly due to that we had to consider everyone’s own busy schedules (especially because we have midterm exams coming up and most of us have a test for almost every class which leaves us with needing much more time to study). When we decided on which day to film, we then discussed at which location we should film. We decided that the best location to film would be Hailey’s house due to that her room went with our concept very well. Then we were set on what our next step would be and enjoyed the rest of our dinner. When the day arrived, we looked around Hailey’s room to see what areas of the room were best for the scenes we wanted to film. Her room radiate a mixture of delicacy, and female-like persona which was perfect for the character of material girl. We started by having Hailey, which is our material girl change into a white robe for the scene in order to show the material girl getting ready to go out. This allows the viewer to see her while she is at home, having a comfortable presence then seeing her presence change when she is outside of her household and is socializing. Then we started filming, the first scene we shot was of our material girl applying her makeup (we used an over the shoulder shot for this scene). We set makeup all over the counter in order to show the amount of makeup she was putting on, showing how much thought and dedication the material girl puts into it. Then, we shot our actress applying red lipstick as she was looking at herself in the mirror. Our next move was to get a shot of our material doing a spinning transition from her wearing the robe to her wearing the pink dress. This, however, ended up being much more complex than we had assumed. Kyra made sure that the camera was settled in a specific spot for all the scenes that involved the spinning transition. This was done in order to ensure that the whole scene looked smooth when it was edited well as to ensure that the flow of the video remained the same. Then, for the next scene we got a close-up of our material girl putting on her renown sunglasses, demonstrating she was ready to go out. Our last scene involved the actress grabbing her car keys and exiting the house, which was quite simple to film. This concluded the filming of our music video on a good note.                      Welcome back my blog reader! After watching this video , I was able to receive various tips on how to make a short film and what to keep in mind before/ while making one. For starters, some good information that I gathered while watching the video was that for instance one writing advice that I would like to keep in mind is that the speaker in the video explained that “If first you want to go left, go right instead” which means that whatever I think should happen next is probably what the audience is expecting that is going to happen therefore I should do the opposite of what is expected in order to keep that element of surprise and maintain the viewer engage. Getting Everything Ready

                   Welcome back to my blog reader! As I began making the preparations to start filming , I decided to change the title of my short film from “A Trip to Remember” to “Lucky” as I believe it holds more irony. This is due that the protagonist named Gabriela receives a spare raffle ticket from her friend Nancy to an event at the mall in which many could consider her to be lucky as her friend won a raffle ticket and decided to give it to her. However, thing s take a turn when she arrives at the mall and is not able to find the event due to that it was all orchestrated by her stalker. Therefore, I th oroughly enjoy the irony that the title “Lucky” offers as she was in fact not lucky at all. Our Plan

Welcome back to my blog reader! Here is our plan for the music video project! Props:   . Since we chose the song Material Girl, we plan to display a young girl living a lavish lifestyle. To portray this, we plan to use fake money, sunglasses, and a feather boa as our props.  Costumes:    . In our video, we will have one main subject, our material girl, with others playing supporting roles. For the material girl, they would be dressed up in long gloves, fake pearls, and a nice long dress, preferably pink. To fit the stereotype of a gold-digger, they would also wear a blonde wig, a feather boa, and expensive looking sunglasses. The actress would have on light makeup, with the most bold part being some red lipstick.       For the lower class boys, we would have them dress in casual clothing, such as jeans and a hoodie.
