Filming day at the mall continued...

 

          Welcome back to my blog reader! As I mentioned before, our filming day at the mall was a very hectic and fun experience. After we got rejected by three stores in a row, we thankfully found this store that sold watches named Breitling that let us film inside. The workers were extremely nice when we approached them and allowed us to film our last three scenes there. When we got a good view of the store, we started filming the scene where our material girl is looking and walking around the store with her followers trailing behind her. While we were filming this scene Kyra’s iPhone ran out of battery, so we solved this small setback by switching to Hailey’s iPhone. Then we continued by filming the scene where one of our material girl’s followers bought one of the items in the store. One of the employees agreed to participate in the video and even offer to let us use of the most expensive watches for woman that they have in the store as a prop. For the scene, the employee then placed the expensive watch on our actress’s wrist and one of our male actors paid the employee with our fake money from party city. Then, we moved on to our last in the store. This scene consisted of our material exiting the store with two of her followers trailing behind her and one waiting by the door in order to open it for her. In addition, the employees let us borrow a bag to add to the items our material girl was carrying and even suggested the best areas in the store that would be great for filming. After this we said our goodbyes and thank you to the employees, which allowed us to conclude our last scene of the day. Then Kyra and I accompanied Hailey to the restroom to get changed from the material girl outfit to her clothes. After this, we went to wait for our actors by a bench and then walked around the mall in the lookout for a place to eat. After we found a place to eat, we settled, and Hailey’s older sister went to meet us there. Then we played trivia games, ate, and parted ways after a long but enjoyable filming day.                      Welcome back my blog reader! After watching this video , I was able to receive various tips on how to make a short film and what to keep in mind before/ while making one. For starters, some good information that I gathered while watching the video was that for instance one writing advice that I would like to keep in mind is that the speaker in the video explained that “If first you want to go left, go right instead” which means that whatever I think should happen next is probably what the audience is expecting that is going to happen therefore I should do the opposite of what is expected in order to keep that element of surprise and maintain the viewer engage. Getting Everything Ready

                   Welcome back to my blog reader! As I began making the preparations to start filming , I decided to change the title of my short film from “A Trip to Remember” to “Lucky” as I believe it holds more irony. This is due that the protagonist named Gabriela receives a spare raffle ticket from her friend Nancy to an event at the mall in which many could consider her to be lucky as her friend won a raffle ticket and decided to give it to her. However, thing s take a turn when she arrives at the mall and is not able to find the event due to that it was all orchestrated by her stalker. Therefore, I th oroughly enjoy the irony that the title “Lucky” offers as she was in fact not lucky at all. Our Plan

Welcome back to my blog reader! Here is our plan for the music video project! Props:   . Since we chose the song Material Girl, we plan to display a young girl living a lavish lifestyle. To portray this, we plan to use fake money, sunglasses, and a feather boa as our props.  Costumes:    . In our video, we will have one main subject, our material girl, with others playing supporting roles. For the material girl, they would be dressed up in long gloves, fake pearls, and a nice long dress, preferably pink. To fit the stereotype of a gold-digger, they would also wear a blonde wig, a feather boa, and expensive looking sunglasses. The actress would have on light makeup, with the most bold part being some red lipstick.       For the lower class boys, we would have them dress in casual clothing, such as jeans and a hoodie.
