Our Genre Decision

 

Welcome back to my blog reader!  

Here are the genres that my group and I choose to research: 

. Genre 1 Horror: The genre of Horror is a way to tell a story with the intention of wanting the audience to feel scared, thrilled, and shocked. This genre usually revolves around a villain, threat, or monster that in most cases is an attempt to reflect issues that are happening in the real world. The audience of this genre often watch horror films in order to be exposed to the constant thrill that scary movies usually provoke as the audience is extremely inverse in what is going to happen next in the story. 

. Genre #2 Comedy: The genre of comedy in film serves the purpose of attempting to induce laughter from its audience. The most common type of comedy genre is the lighthearted one which is used to cause enjoyment for the audience, entertain them, and delight them. This genre usually consists of exaggerating the actor's actions/behavior and language in order to make them look humorous and induce joy/laughter in the audience. Also, by executing those actions in a way that the individual will find amusing and find themselves entertained by the film.  

. Genre #3 Dystopian: The genre of dystopian films revolves around the idea of a fictitious society where the characters are suffering from either oppression from the government, terror, or impoverishment. This type of genre usually consists of an intense fictitious world, strong cinematography, and a personal connection to the characters along with the audience empathizing with their said suffering. This genre causes the audience to reflect on their own society and compare the fictional world to their own reality/community. 

. My group and I chose the third genre that we researched which is dystopian as it is the one that we found to be the most suitable for us. This genre can allow us to express our idea to its full extent as it is the one, we can execute with what we have at our disposal.

                     Welcome back my blog reader! After watching this video , I was able to receive various tips on how to make a short film and what to keep in mind before/ while making one. For starters, some good information that I gathered while watching the video was that for instance one writing advice that I would like to keep in mind is that the speaker in the video explained that “If first you want to go left, go right instead” which means that whatever I think should happen next is probably what the audience is expecting that is going to happen therefore I should do the opposite of what is expected in order to keep that element of surprise and maintain the viewer engage. For Instance, if there is a scene where a jump scare is expected, I should d o the opposite which is to do nothing and save that wonderful jump scare for another scene where the audience is not expecting it and are caught off guard thus main...

Getting Everything Ready

                   Welcome back to my blog reader! As I began making the preparations to start filming , I decided to change the title of my short film from “A Trip to Remember” to “Lucky” as I believe it holds more irony. This is due that the protagonist named Gabriela receives a spare raffle ticket from her friend Nancy to an event at the mall in which many could consider her to be lucky as her friend won a raffle ticket and decided to give it to her. However, thing s take a turn when she arrives at the mall and is not able to find the event due to that it was all orchestrated by her stalker. Therefore, I th oroughly enjoy the irony that the title “Lucky” offers as she was in fact not lucky at all. Our Plan

Welcome back to my blog reader! Here is our plan for the music video project! Props:   . Since we chose the song Material Girl, we plan to display a young girl living a lavish lifestyle. To portray this, we plan to use fake money, sunglasses, and a feather boa as our props.  Costumes:    . In our video, we will have one main subject, our material girl, with others playing supporting roles. For the material girl, they would be dressed up in long gloves, fake pearls, and a nice long dress, preferably pink. To fit the stereotype of a gold-digger, they would also wear a blonde wig, a feather boa, and expensive looking sunglasses. The actress would have on light makeup, with the most bold part being some red lipstick.       For the lower class boys, we would have them dress in casual clothing, such as jeans and a hoodie. Any lower class girls would dress in similar casual clothing but may wear skirts, short dresses, or shorts as well. On the other hand...
