Our Opening Sequence SOLUS

       Welcome back to my blog reader! This has been a wonderful journey and experience; I am proud of what my team members and I have created together. This project has led me to see how much I have improved since our first project, in regard to filming, editing, and working in a group. I am extremely proud to present the opening sequence of our film titled “SOLUS.” I hope dear reader that you are able to enjoy this opening sequence as much as I enjoyed making.                   Welcome back to my blog reader! I will discuss my plans for my short film, including scheduling, health and safety, location, participants, back-up plans, and costumes. Starting with   locatio n, the first scene consists of the young woman getting ready to go to the event her f riend is dragging her to which will take place at my house . Then, the second location will take place in a mall that is relatively isolated or an at empty area where the young woman will arrive believing is the correct location. The young woman will try to walk around in confusion in attempt to find said event. She asks someone about it and they say that the event had passed weeks/or never took place there. She then calls her friend through her house phone and the friend tells her that she never sent her that ticket and that her phone was lost. Time for the Last Review Session

                        Welcome back to my blog reader! After making the changes suggested by my close friends Jada and Jasmine, I completed the editing for the film and decided that it is time for a second review as the improvements have been made. Further, there was the audio quality change made to the scene where the protagonist Gabriela interacts with a stranger as she asks where the event is located . As I had mentioned before, due to background noise and wind, the audio quality was not the best therefore I had requested my actresses to do a voiceover for the scene. When review time came around, Jasmine and Jada were not fully satisfied with the voiceover as it made the scene lack realism. This led me on another path to find a more improved solution. Short film research: Porcupine/Thriller

                           Welcome back to my blog reader! As a way to research the thriller genre for my short film, I watched the short film “Porcupine” by the filmmaker Clifford Miu using the short of the week website and I will be analyzing its Mis-En-Scene, different camera angels, shots, movements, sounds and editing that are commonly used in t he film . Further, t he story is about a young mo ther who is a widow , one New Year’s Eve night she has to protect her infant from intruders and therefore askes the 911 operator if she has permission to shoot.
