Starting the Editing Process
Welcome back to my blog reader! Kyra and Hailey met up at Hailey’s house in order to begin our begin our editing process, as I mentioned in previous blog, I was sadly not able to attend this meeting as I was unable of finding someone to take me to her house. We handled this issue as we previously had with texting and facetiming throughout the whole process. They began by opening the app CapCut as this is the one, we used to edit due to that Kyra being already familiarized with it and we had used it in previous projects. We handpicked the clips that we fancied the most into one file to make it easier on our end to find the right clips when we start editing in order to save time and patience. We as a group agreed that something felt off when we saw all the clips together (sent to me) and concluded that it was best to add a scene where Hailey had to call her mother in order let the audience know the reason as to why she went to the mall to look for her mother. They began filming the scene and turn Hailey’s mom phone so that it would straight to voicemail when Hailey called, they also made sure to place the phone on speaker so that it could be heard in the video (this scene was to display that our character was not able to communicate with her mother). In addition, we also decided to add a scene where Hailey remembers that her mother had said that she was going to go to the mall. This scene took the a few tries due to that this scene consisted of a remainder on her phone, things such as missing the remainder, on the way of the shot happened but at the end they were able to get the shot. The shot it as she was looking through her email and the remainder pops up. After this, we began discussing the transitions that would fit just right for the scenes of the video, testing factors such as various filter, different effects as it was extremely important for us to that everything flowed in a nice manner. This was a day of progress; we would continue our editing process when we were all at school. Well this is my cue to leave, till next time reader!
