Well filming day did not go as planned...

 

Welcome back to my blog reader! The making of our “Material Girl” music video has come with its challenges. To start us off, we could not settle on how to end the video (kept changing scenes 11 and 12) and the difficulty that some of the other scenes brought such as the car scene (scenes 4 and 5, which showed our material girl in the car and exiting the car). In my team, no one knows how to drive yet, which increases the difficulty of filming those scenes (we decided to keep this scene and try to find time with one of our parents to film the scene). The challenges don’t just stop there, by the day we were set to film most of our actors had dropped out. On the day of filming, at the last minute two of our actors said that they could not make it anymore and one of them got sick, which left us with little to no actors to film with. This forced us to move our filming day to next the next week as we could not film during the week because of school and our own personal schedule plus we needed the time to find more actors who would be willing to participate in our video. Although this event did indeed delay our plans, it provided us with more time to order the props (Fake money, white feather boa, red carpet, hat, bags, white gloves, etc...) that we needed to film. The issue with the fake money that we kept finding in physical stores was that the size (small) was far too unrealistic to be used. Due to this, we ended up ordering the fake money at an online store along with the white feather boa, red carpet, and white gloves (this is subject to change). Continuing about props, the dress for our material girl was going to have a similar feel to the one that Madonna wore in the video, but instead of going for a pink dress we went for a blue/silver one (Hailey sent the dress to be tailored). Our material girl’s hairstyle which is Hailey is going to be flat ironed and we plan to film our video at the mall. We plan to split the filming in two days at two different locations, one at the mall with our actors and the other at Hailey’s house when our material girl is getting ready.                      Welcome back my blog reader! After watching this video , I was able to receive various tips on how to make a short film and what to keep in mind before/ while making one. For starters, some good information that I gathered while watching the video was that for instance one writing advice that I would like to keep in mind is that the speaker in the video explained that “If first you want to go left, go right instead” which means that whatever I think should happen next is probably what the audience is expecting that is going to happen therefore I should do the opposite of what is expected in order to keep that element of surprise and maintain the viewer engage. Getting Everything Ready

                   Welcome back to my blog reader! As I began making the preparations to start filming , I decided to change the title of my short film from “A Trip to Remember” to “Lucky” as I believe it holds more irony. This is due that the protagonist named Gabriela receives a spare raffle ticket from her friend Nancy to an event at the mall in which many could consider her to be lucky as her friend won a raffle ticket and decided to give it to her. However, thing s take a turn when she arrives at the mall and is not able to find the event due to that it was all orchestrated by her stalker. Therefore, I th oroughly enjoy the irony that the title “Lucky” offers as she was in fact not lucky at all. Our Plan

Welcome back to my blog reader! Here is our plan for the music video project! Props:   . Since we chose the song Material Girl, we plan to display a young girl living a lavish lifestyle. To portray this, we plan to use fake money, sunglasses, and a feather boa as our props.  Costumes:    . In our video, we will have one main subject, our material girl, with others playing supporting roles. For the material girl, they would be dressed up in long gloves, fake pearls, and a nice long dress, preferably pink. To fit the stereotype of a gold-digger, they would also wear a blonde wig, a feather boa, and expensive looking sunglasses. The actress would have on light makeup, with the most bold part being some red lipstick.       For the lower class boys, we would have them dress in casual clothing, such as jeans and a hoodie.
