Let me introduce myself

Welcome back to my blog reader! Allow me to introduce myself once again, my name is Alessandra and I am extremely excited filled with anticipation of beginning the final task for AICE Media Studies. From my first project which was the commercial approaching it with my new found knowledge and then going into second project with much more knowledge which was the music video, until now. Prior to this course and its wonderful projects, I did not have much knowledge of how to film and properly edit and of the profound vocabulary that the media word holds. As the year has progressed, I have noticed how these projects have led me to recognized and be able to describe different camera angles such as a tilt, pan, Dutch/Canted, etc... including different sounds such as non-diegetic sound and various movements, editing, etc... Thus, helping in improving my skills of filming and editing. Before these projects, I had never held a physical camera in my hands before and this not only allowed me to do that but also permitted me to learn how to use it properly and how to use it depending on the task at hand. Furthermore, I am very fond of editing, even considering choosing a career path that revolves around it and I am very thankful to the challenges these tasks have given my team members and I that have helped polish our editing and filming skills. On the downside, I have not been as involved as I liked to be on the editing area of my group’s and I previous project due to that I worked heavily on other areas of the projects, but I plan and look forward to forming a great part of the editing section of our final task. Overall, I feel that I have gained so much understanding of the world of media studies and how my skills in filming/editing have improved over time takes to the challenges that the previous projects have provided me with. Additionally, I cannot wait for the final task as I prepared to put my polished skills into play. Well this is my cue to leave, till next time reader!
